The Downy Bird book:

Downy Bird Art Kingdom is an art book that showcases 21 emerging and established contemporary west coast artists. The collection reveals a distinct visual departure from the pop surrealism, neo graff and mission school that dominated the 1990’s and early 2000’s. A new, quieter indie-tone with ample negative space and mystical themes has emerged as a common stylistic denominator. DBAK is a snapshot of this excitingly fresh visual era.

The featured DBAK artists have been blowing up in the art scenes of the west coast. Separately, they have shown at galleries internationally and have been acknowledged by Juxtapoz, Giant Robot, Tiny Showcase, Fecal Face, Hamburger Eyes, grants, teaching positions and professional design work.

The book is 7.5” x 7.5” with 96 full color, perfect bound pages. It was produced by Matthew Bowers and printed at, Endeavor Printing. Design and production work by Matthew Bowers, Daniyel Hicks and Elliot Olson.
